Mobility Support
Our Mobility Support service is designed to help individuals move safely, confidently, and independently, while ensuring both their well-being and the safety of our staff. Whether it’s assisting with walking, transferring from bed to chair, or using mobility aids such as walkers or wheelchairs, our trained carers are committed to providing the support required to keep clients active and mobile. We take great care in supporting clients to move in ways that enhance their independence and dignity, while also ensuring that they are safe and comfortable throughout the process.
We believe in promoting independence as much as possible, and we work closely with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure that clients receive expert guidance on how to mobilise safely and effectively. This collaborative approach helps us to develop tailored mobility plans that are designed to meet each client’s specific needs. Working alongside health professionals ensures that any mobility goals, exercises, or equipment are in line with the client’s capabilities, promoting their ability to move safely while preventing any risk of injury.
Our carers are highly trained in using various mobility aids and equipment, including hoists, Sara Steady, banana boards, and other assistive devices, to ensure safe and comfortable transfers for clients with more complex mobility needs. This ensures that clients can move or be transferred from one position to another with minimal discomfort and maximum safety. Whether it’s helping clients move from bed to chair or assisting with transfers in and out of vehicles, we make sure the process is handled with precision and care.
Our mobility support not only helps clients with essential daily activities but also plays a key role in reducing the risk of falls, which are a common concern, especially for individuals with limited mobility. By encouraging the safe use of mobility aids and assisting with exercises, we help to maintain and even improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. This not only enhances the client’s physical health but also contributes to a more active and engaged lifestyle, promoting their overall well-being.
Furthermore, our carers are trained to recognise and adjust to the unique mobility needs of each individual, ensuring that all movements are performed with the utmost care, in a manner that is both safe for the client and for the carer. This approach fosters an environment where clients feel empowered to stay as mobile as possible, while receiving the necessary assistance to move with confidence.
At MAUCARE, we are committed to supporting clients to remain as independent as possible, while ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Our holistic approach, in collaboration with physiotherapists and occupational therapists, ensures that every aspect of mobility support is personalised, effective, and designed to improve the quality of life for our clients.
